Yes, HTC launched its new era mobile for 2014 calendar year with successor for HTC One 2013 (m7) model in the name of HTC One M8 also known as HTC One 2014 at the same time Samsung also unveiled its yet another Galaxy S series big flagship named Galaxy S5 with superior specs and features. Samsung Galaxy S5 screen comes with 5.1 inches size with 1080 pixels full HD Super AMOLED technology and 432 ppi pixel density only 8.1 mm thickness where as HTC One M8 comes with 5.0 inches with 1080 p full HD and 441 ppi only 9.35 mm thickness. So One M8 brings down in just 0.1 inches deduction when compare to Galaxy S5.
Hardware (Processor and Storage memory)
From the Hardware section both the model has almost same configuration as One M8 processor powered by 2.3 GHz Quad core Krait 400 with superfast Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset and 2GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB built-in storage which allows only 10GB/24GB user storage also upto 128GB memory expansion via external microSD, microSDHC, microSDXC slot where as Galaxy S5 powered by 2.5GHz quad core Krait 400 processor with same Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 MSM8974-AC chipset and nothing comparable at storage section.
Both the smartphone manufacturer has their unique user Interface along with android operating system. HTC One 2014 running on android 4.4 kitkat with HTSC sense 6.0 UI, HTC BlinkFeed while S5 running on android 4.4.2 kitkat with TouchWiz UI. The major difference is that S5 has water and dust resistant with IP 67 certified while HTC One M8 misses this features.
